ERC TO HOLD STAKEHOLDER SENSITIZATION WORKSHOP IN NAIROBI ON 30TH MAY 2017

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) will hold a sensitization workshop for licensed individuals and firms licensed in Nairobi County as shown below:

TARGET GROUPS

  • Solar products manufacturers and importers
  • Manufacturers and importers of designated electrical appliances (Refrigerators, Air-conditioners, Motors and Lamps)
  • Petroleum Transporters, Depot and Service Station Operators

TARGET COUNTY: Nairobi

DATE: Tuesday, 30th May 2017

TIME: 0900 Hrs to 1600 Hrs

VENUE: Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS), Thika Road (near Allsopps)

The objective of the workshop is to enhance best practices, raise levels of awareness on safety, security challenges, regulatory compliance and applicable standards in the energy sector. The following areas will be covered:

  • Licensing requirements for petroleum retail businesses
  • Implementation of the Energy (Appliancesā€™ Energy Performance and Labeling) Regulations 2016
  • Implementation of the Kenya Standard on petroleum retail station layouts ā€“ KS 2506:2014
  • Clearance procedure for importation of solar products
  • The proposed revision of petroleum road transport regulations
  • Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Regulations
  • Petroleum fuels marking and monitoring
  • Licensing requirements for LPG businesses
